The Munsters Trivia

The following trivia was culled from Monster World Issue No. 2 which featured the then new Munsters TV show:

Grandpa, over 430 years old, came to the United States when someone told him about the Indians and Pilgrims. When they said the word "redskins", his mouth watered and his appetite wetted. He felt where there is redskin, there is bound to be red blood. He came over to the US from Helsinki on the S.S. Transylvania. His laboratory is said to be supplied by Jekyll and Hyde. Igor, the bat, is his pet.

Herman Munster is the breadwinner of the family. He received his scar when Dr. Frankenstein got stoned in his castle and tried to open Herman's head with a can opener. It is not sure if he got stoned by drugs or by rocks. Before he met Lily, he had little success with dating due to his peculiar skin condition. It is written that he died in 1629, and resurrected in 1964.

Lily Dracula Munster was born in Transylvania and died in 1843 and is a vampire. It has never been said, but Lily must have died from one of Grandpa's bites. Eddie, ten years old, is the child of the family, and Marilyn is Lily's neice. This must mean that her sister, who was never bitten by Grandpa, had Marilyn as a child. This makes the timeline a little screwy, so she must be Lily's great-great neice. We only hear of a brother named Lester. Lily has her hair done by the Forest Lawn Beauty Shoppe.

The Munsters are said to live on 43 Mockingbird Lane in Camelot, New Jersey. (This was later changed to the lucky number of 1313 Mockingbird Lane) The TV series was filmed in California, of course. The family has a dragon named "Spot". They also have a black cat named "Tiger" and have a Raven in their cuckoo clock.
